Always Enough

Leah and I were listening to her iPod lastnight on the way home from Tuscaloosa. This song came on, Always Enough by Casting Crowns. I have listened to it several times but had never really listened to the words. The lyrics are....

In the drying weary land LORD You are the rain
In the sea of shattered ones Your love comes rushing in
You hold the world within Your hands
And see each tear that falls
Through every fire and every storm
You're Always Enough Always Enough

Your love is peace to the broken
Faith for the widow
Hope for the orphan
Strength for the weak
Your love is the anthem of nations
Brings out to the ages
And You're Always Enough for me

In the watches of the night
LORD You are my song
Hope is in the morning light
Your love shines like the dawn
You keep my heart in perfect peace
My life is in Your hands
When confusion hides my way
You're Always EnoughAlways Enough

How amazing is it to know God will ALWAYS be enough?! No matter what we're going through, no matter the need we may have, God is enough! My favorite line is "You keep my heart in perfect peace, my life is in your hands." I have no reason to doubt or fear because God will ALWAYS be enough!!

Proverbs 16:9

My best friend Whitney Wigley showed me this verse one day...
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9

I have to remind myself of this verse often. I can make all the plans I want for my life but no matter how many plans I make or how right I think my plans are God will direct my steps. God has a special plan for each of our lives. The good thing is he knows what's best for us. Although, sometimes the human side of me wants to say "God are you sure about that".
If we would only daily seek his plan for our life and follow it, that would safe us a lot of trouble. It is when we make our own plans and try to go with our plan that we end up in a mess.

Saturday at the Preacher's House!!!

For as long as I can remember, Saturdays have been the day that Dad spends most of his time in his study preparing for Sunday service. You can find him sitting in front of his computer with Bible open typing away. He is usually listening to a preacher preach or music. How he concentrates I will never know!! My favorite part on Saturday is hearing Dad pray when he goes to bed. Tonight, he was singing as he went to bed. He said he was a one man quartet. He was singing all the parts and it was annoying yet hillarious at the same time. Once Mom got him to shut up I heard him praying. I am sure he has no idea that I listen but I can't help but tune in to what he is saying. He prayed for the service tomorrow and that God would meet with us in a might way!! I would love to know what God thinks when he hears his preacher men call on him for strength, wisdom, guidance, and annointing as they stand behind the pulpit to preach the Word! I know all of God's children are special to him but I can't help but think that God has a special place in his heart for preachers and pastors. He has placed a great responsibility upon them. I know preachers all around the world, just like Dad, are praying that same prayer tonight as the lay down to sleep. The heart of a Pastor is something I admire a great deal. A lof of that comes from living with one because I see what they deal with day in and day out.
My prayer tonight is that God would bless each preacher as they stand to preach the Word tomorrow! May lives be changed and the Lord be magnified!
